Bhairab OC sued for ‘looting car parts’
Kishoreganj: A case was filed with a local court here on Sunday against the officer-in-charge of Bhairab Police Station on charge of looting valuables parts of a private car under custody.
Trader Rafiqul Islam filed the case with the court of Senior Judicial Magistrate M Iqbal Mahmud in the afternoon.
Taking cognisance of the complaint, the judge ordered the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) to submit a report within 30 days after investigation.
In his complaint, Rafiqul said sub-inspector Jalal Uddin Bin Amir of the police station seized his private car on September 21, 2017 and took it to the police station at the order of OC Mokhlesur Rahman.
He alleged that the OC demanded Tk 2 lakh for the release of the vehicle on October 2 which he refused to give.
While taking the car on February 1 last following a court order, its valuable parts were found missing, the complainant said, alleging that the OC and the SI looted the parts following his refusal to pay the toll.
Contacted, the OC denied the allegation brought against him.
