Fakhrul making false allegation: DMP boss

Dhaka: Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Commissioner Asaduzzaman Miah on Thursday claimed that BNP secretary general’s allegation of ruling party men’s attacking BNP leaders and workers accompanying Khaleda’s motorcade as false.
The DMP commissioner made the remarks when he came in front of BNP’s Naya Paltan central office in the afternoon to inspect the overall law and order situation there.
He said that Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir alleged that ruling party men hurled brick chips and stones on their men accompanying Khaleda’s motorcade, which is lie.
The BNP men hurled brick chips and stone on police like rains. They attacked police, torched a motor cycle in Kakrail intersection and vandalised vehicle. The allegation which was brought by the BNP leader, was totally lie, the DMP boss claimed.
Asaduzzaman said that five policemen have been admitted at hospital after being injured in attacks. The BNP are trying to divert public attention while police are ensuring security to people. Whoever is doing anarchy and chaos will be brought under trial, he added.
Monirul Islam, chief of counter terrorism and transnational crime unit (CTTC) and other officials were also present.
