New law this year on appointing HC judges: Anisul
Dhaka: Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Anisul Haque has said a new law will be passed this year on appointment of judges to the higher court.
He also said no one will be beyond questioning if he or she happens to be at fault, while talking about the bank loan defaulters and financial scams.
He said these while inaugurating the 139th Refresher Course for Additional Judges and Session Judges and Same level Judiciary Officials at city's Judiciary Administrative Training Institute (JATI) on Sunday.
He said recently many are protesting against bank loan defaulters and financial irregularities and government is also aware about them.
The law minister said the real guilty persons will be punished soon because in Bangladesh nobody is above the law.
Mentioning every judge enjoys full freedom according to the constitution and laws of the country, he told the trainee judges that they should always be fearless and ethical, especially when adjudicating the corruption cases.
Answering a question from the reporters gathered in the venue, Anisul said this year a law will be passed on employing judges in higher court.
