Sylhet: A murder case has been filed in connection with death of five workers in the stone quarry at Karaibagh of Bholaganj quarry in Companiganj upazila of Sylhet.

Nasir Miah, son of Atabur Miah, one of the victims, filed the case with Companiganj Police Station on Monday night, said Shamsul Alam, assistant superintendent of Sylhet Metropolitan Police (SMP).

Ali Amjad Hossain, president of upazila Awami League unit and six others, have been made accused in the case.

Besides, detained Abdur Rouf, the lobour of the quarry, was shown arrested in the case.

Five workers were killed and three others injured as the mud of the stone quarry collapsed on the workers while they were extracting stones by operating generator on Sunday.
