Bank official among 2 held for bribery
Noakhali: Members of Anti-Corruption Commission on Wednesday caught two people, including an official of Bangladesh Krishi Bank (BKB), red handed while taking bribe from customer in Begumganj upazila.
The arrestees were identified as Hafiz Ullah, a BKB official of Kadirpur Branch and its night guard Ahsan Ullah.
Talebur Rahman, deputy director of Noakhali unit ACC, said a customer wishing anonymity, submitted a written complaint against Hafiz Ullah as he demanded Tk 8,000 as bribe from him for providing Tk 80,000 as loan.
On Wednesday, Hafiz Ullah took Tk 8,000 from the customer via Ahsan Ullah.
Later, a team of ACC went to the bank and caught Hafiz and Ahsan with the bribe money.
