Zafar Iqbal’s attacker Foyzur put on 10-day remand

A Bangladesh court on Thursday placed Foyzur Rahman alias Foyezul on a 10-day remand in a case filed over the knife attack on eminent writer Prof Muhammad Zafar Iqbal.
Sylhet Metropolitan Magistrate Haridas Kumar passed the order when police produced Foyzul before the court around 1pm seeking a 10-day remand, said Shafiqul Islam, officer-in-charge of Jalalabad Police Station, reports the UNB.
Zafar Iqbal came under knife attack on the campus of Shahjalal University of Science and Technology (SUST) on March 3.
Police arrested Foyzur, 25, from the spot.
