Noakhali: Unidentified miscreants hacked two youths to death in a daring attack near Eklashpur Bazar in Begumganj upazila early Saturday.

The deceased are- Md Ali, 24, son Md Solaiman, and Robin, 22, son of Abdul Kader, residents of Eklashpur village in the upazila.

Elias, Superintendent of Noakhali Police said when Ali and Robin were going to Eklashpur bazar in a motorbike for going to Dhaka some 8-10 armed miscreants chased them.

As Rabin fell down while fleeing the miscreants hacked him with sharp weapons and threw his body into a pond.

Being chased by the armed gang, Ali took shelter at his aunt’s house to save himself but met the same fate. The miscreants also beat up his aunt as she tried to save Ali.

On information, police recovered the bodies and sent those to Noakhali General Hospital morgue for autopsy, the SP added.

Police are investigating to find out the motive behind the double murder, he said.
