A red carpet was rolled out on Monday morning when Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina reached Istana, the official residence and office of the President of Singapore and also the working office of the Prime Minister of Singapore.

Singapore Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong received his Bangladeshi counterpart Sheikh Hasina, now in Singapore on a four-day official visit, at 11:00am (local time).

A smartly turned out contingent of Singapore Armed Forces (SAF) gave her guard of honour at the gate of Istana.

After the reception, Sheikh Hasina paid a courtesy on Halimah Yacob, the first female Muslim President of Singapore.

Later, both the prime ministers of Bangladesh and Singapore will sit in a bilateral meeting followed by the signing ceremony of Memorandum of Understandings (MoUs) at the same venue.

The Prime Minister will join an official luncheon to be hosted by Singapore Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong in honour of Sheikh Hasina at the Banquet Hall of Istana.

Then she will visit the Port Authority of Singapore in the afternoon and attend the dinner to be hosted by High Commissioner of Bangladesh to Singapore Mustafizur Rahman in honour of the Prime Minister in the evening.
