Magura: A teacher of Haat Dariapur Shammiloni High School in Sreepur upazila of Magura was suspended for reportedly sexually harassing a schoolgirl.

The school managing committee took the action against Mohsin Ali following a written complain submitted by the victim.

Police said Mohsin Ali allegedly harassed a class VIII student of the school on Tuesday. Later, the students submitted a written complaint to the Headmaster of the school demanding punishment of the teacher.

When the news spread, local people and students attacked Mohsin . Five teachers, including the headmaster, were injured when they tried to protect the accused teacher. Two of the injured teachers were taken to Sreepur upazila health complex.

The protesters also confined the headmaster and the other teachers to a room of the school for three hours.

On information, police went to the spot and brought the situation under control. They also arrested the Mohsin Ali and a case was filed.

Later, the school authorities suspended the teacher.
