3 DU students picked up by RAB

Following the pickup of three students, several hundred of students of Dhaka University (DU) have staged a demonstration and vandalized several vehicles in TSC and adjoining area of the campus on Thursday night around 11:30pm.

RAB-2 members picked up three students from in front of Begum Rokaya Hall around 10:30pm.

The three students are Tanveer Ahemd and Faisal, third year student of Bijoy Ekator Hall and Imran, also third year student of Shurjo Shen Hall of the university.

During the protest, some students had vandalized several cars in front of the Bangla Academy, demanding the immediate release of their classmates.

Students said the three students’ motorcycle hit a RAB private car and broke its glass at Kantaban area around 10:30 pm. RAB members came to them and asked about the reasons.

At one stage of the altercation, some RAB members came and picked up the three students of Ekattur Hall.

Meanwhile, some leaders of Bangladesh Chhatra League came to the students and tried to take them away from vandalism. 

DU Proctor AKM Golam Rabbani said that they have been informed in this matter. We are trying to communicate with RAB member in this connection.
