Narayanganj: Eshak Ali Mandal, a sub-registrar at Araihazar Upazila Land Registry Office, was suspended on Sunday after a video footage of bribe taking by him went viral insocial media.

Inspector General of Registration Khan Mohammad Abdul Mannan suspended him after primary interrogation at the office, said Sabikunnahar, Narayanganj District Registrar.

Eshak Ali Mandal has been withdrawn from his office in the morning as he will be replaced by Rezaul Karim Bakshi, sub-registrar, Rupganj.

A video footage of bribe taking by Eshak Ali went viral in social media. Various newspapers carried reports on the video footage.

The footage shows that Eshak Ali was taking bribe for signing each deed and keeping the money in a drawer in his desk.

It also shows that he was giving back money if the amount was less than his demand.
