Body formed to probe Gazipur train derailment
Dhaka: A three-member investigation committee was formed to probe the derailment of a train in Tongi that left three people, who were travelling on the train roof, dead on Sunday.
Bangladesh Railway Director General Amzad Hossain said the probe committee, headed by Chandan Kanti Dey, Chief Signal
Telecom of Bangladesh Railway, will submit their report within three days.
The other members of the committee are Ariful Islam, (East) Chief engineer, Mizanur Rahman, Chief Technical engineer.
Earlier in the morning, the Dhaka-bound ‘Commuter Train’ from Jamalpur veered off the track in the area, leaving three of its passengers dead on the spot.
The accident also snapped rain communications of Dhaka with others parts of the country except Narayanganj.
