Ministry seeks innovative ideas on saving energy

Dhaka: Power and Energy Ministry will welcome new and innovative ideas from young generation on how to save power and energy.

State Minister for power, energy and mineral resources Nasrul Hamid announced this while addressing 4thSession in BPO (business process outsourcing) summit 2018 on ‘Global Opportunities for Creative Economy’ at Sonargaon Hotel.

‘We have already sought such innovative ideas through the ministry’s facebook page and also my personal facebook page,’ he said adding that if such ideas are proven to be workable and effective, the ministry will purchase those ideas.

He also mentioned that one young entrepreneur has already came up with an innovative idea on getting real-time data on power sector and the ministry has welcomed it.

ICT Division and Bangladesh Association of Call Center and Outsourcing (BACCO) organised the 2-day BPO Summit, which was also addressed by ICD Division’s additional secretary AKMN Khairul Alam, Youtube channel 10 minute school founder Ayman Sadiq and Google cloud source representative Sumaya Zafrin Chowdhury .

Making a presentation on ‘Global Opportunities for Creative Economy’ Nasrul Hamid said there is huge scope for young generation to engage themselves at the downstream level of the creative economy where they come up with new ideas of business based on information technology.

He said the future world will be dominated by the creative ideas.

Khairul Alam said the government has been extending its support to promote the creative economy.

He said BPO Summit will be organised in other divisions and districts as well to attract the young people in the creative economy.
