Dhaka: Health and Family Welfare Minister Mohammed Nasim on Monday asked BNP leaders not to spread falsehood about the treatment of their Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia.

‘Do not spread any falsehood regarding her treatment...She is a former Prime Minister, politician as well as woman and we are very much concern about her treatment.’

He was speaking at a press briefing at the conference room of health ministry at Secretariat in the city, reports the BSS.

‘She is taking medicine regularly following the prescription of doctors and she is fine now,’ he said.

The government must follow the jail code while providing treatment to her, Nasim said, adding,’ We can assure that there will be no negligence on the treatment of Begum Zia.’

Begum Zia herself thanked for her better treatment at Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU), he said.

State Minister of the ministry Zahid Maleque, Secretary M Serajul Huq Khan (Health Services Division), Director General of Health Services Professor Dr Abul Kalam Azad were present, among others.
