BNP not to join polls keeping Khaleda in jail: Mosharraf
Chattogram: BNP senior leader Khandaker Mosharraf Hossain on Monday said their party will not join the next general election keeping their chairperson Khaleda Zia in jail.
‘Khaleda Zia is an integral part of BNP. She is the only inspiration to party leaders and activists. No election can be held without her. The conspiracy to hold a lopsided election will be thwarted soon,’ he said. Mosharraf, a BNP standing committee member, was speaking at a workers' meeting of city unit BNP at a community centre in Kazir Deuri area.
About Prime Minister's comments that BNP acting Chairman Tarique Rahman will be brought back home, he said their leader will return home like a hero, not the way Sheikh Hasain wants.
Mentioning that a resistance has started against the present government from London, the BNP leader claimed that the Prime Minister is now afraid that people will put up a resistance against it.
City BNP President unit Dr Shahdat Hossain presided over the meeting where BNP standing committee member Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury also spoke.
