Rajshahi: A bus driver of Rajshahi University of Science and Technology (Ruet) was hacked to death on the campus on Monday night.

The deceased is Abdus Salam, in his fifities, resident of Devisinghpara under Boalia Police Station in the city, he used to reside in the Ruet staff quarters.

Another Ruet bus driver, Abdul Halim, said Salam was found lying in a pool of blood in front of the female dormitory of the university around 9:30pm.

He was taken to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital where doctors declared him dead, said assistant sub-inspector Shafique, in-charge of RMCH police camp.

He said there were injury marks on the abdomen and the head of the victim.

The reason behind the killing could not be known immediately.
