Dhaka: A Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) mobile court on Monday conducted a drive in the city’s Mohakhali area and fined six fuel pumps Tk 19 lakh for various irregularities.

Sources at the Rab-2 battalion headquarters said a team of the battalion led by its Additional SP Md Mizanur Rahman along with executive magistrate Md Helel Uddin conducted the drive at Shaheed Tajuddin Ahmed Avenue of Mohakhali.

During the drive, the mobile court inspected CM Service Station and Super Plus CNG filling station-2, Ashufa Filling Station, M/s Shohagh Filling and Service Centre, M/S Esa Garden Pvt Ltd, SR Enter Prize and Shadhin Bangla Filling Station and Servicing Centre and found various irregularities including contaminated octane oil, and metre tampering of both fuel oil and gas.

The mobile court detained nine employees of the six stations and fined a total of Tk 10 lakh, in default sentence different terms of simple jail in this connection.

Director (Operations) of Rupantorit Prakitit Gas Company Lt Engineer AIM Nurullah and Assistant Director of BSTI Monaf Hossain were also present during the drive.
