Pirojpur: A young man hacked his wife and father-in-law to death at Parerhat village in Indurkani upazila of Pirojpur on Thursday evening over a family feud.

The deceased are Rita, in her twenties, wife of Apon, and her father Jahangir, in his forties, of the village.

Officer-in-charge of Indurkani Police Station Md Nasir Uddin said the trio locked into an argument in the evening over a trivial matter.

At one stage, Apon, son of Alauddin, hacked his wife and her father indiscriminately with a sharp weapon, killing them on the spot.

The bodies were sent to Pirojpur Sadar Hospital for autopsy, the OC said.

Meanwhile, locals caught Apon and handed him over to police.
