Dhaka: BNP Dhaka south city unit general secretary Kazi Abul Bashar has been released from jail on bail.

Bashar walked out of the Kashimpur Central Jail on Tuesday night after his bail order reached the jail authorities, reports the UNB.

Some BNP leaders and activists received him at the jail gate, said BNP chairperson’s media wing member Shamsuddin Didar.

On March 12, plainclothes police arrested Bashar from the Jatiya Press Club area on his way back home from the High Court.

Later, he was shown arrested in some political cases.

Bashar recently got bail in the cases from the High Court, paving the way for his release, Didar added.
