Dhaka: Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid handed over copies of the results of this year’s Secondary School Certificate (SSC) and its equivalent examinations to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Sunday morning.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina received the result at about 10:00am at her official Ganobhaban residence.

The education minister will formally announce the results at a press briefing at his office at about 1:00pm.

Results will be available on the websites of the respective Education Boards and Educational Institutions while examinees will get the results through SMS.

This year, a total of 20,31,889 students, including 10,23,212 boys and 10,08,687 girls, appeared in the examinations.

In 2017, a total of 17,86,613 students—9,10,501 boys and 8,76,112 girls—took part in the examinations.

The Education Ministry sources said 16,27,378 students appeared in the SSC examination under the eight general education boards this year while 2,89,752 in Dakhil examination under Madrasah Education Board and 1,14,769 in vocational examination under Bangladesh Technical Education Board.
