Gazipur: A gang of muggers snatched away Tk 11 lakh after shooting two ‘bKash’ agents in Chandana intersection area of Sadar upazila of Gazipur on Sunday.

The injured are Asaduzzaman and Iqbal Hossain, employees of Jamaddar Enterprise of the area.

The seriously wounded duo was rushed to Dhaka Medical College Hospital, said Aminul Islam, officer-in-charge of Joydebpur Police Station.

A gang of four muggers obstructed them while they were going to deposit the collected money amounting Tk 11 lakh to a local bank in the area, said the OC quoting the victims.

‘At one stage, the muggers shot them and fled away with the snatched money,’ he said.

Police recovered a pistol and 5 rounds of bullets from the spot, the OC said adding that drives were underway to detain the robbers.
