DSCC to digitally track errant cleaning staff
Dhaka: Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) on Wednesday formally inaugurated the digital tracking system to detect its errant cleaning staff.
DSCC Mayor Sayeed Khokon formally inaugurated the tracking system at a simple event at Nagar Bhaban, reported UNB.
DSCC has put in place Grameenphone Team Tracking System as part of digitalization of the corporation. Attendance and work transparency of cleaning staff under the Waste Management department of the DSCC will be ensured with this digital tracking system.
Senior officials concerned of DSCC can easily track the errant cleaning staff during their duty hours through the GP Team Tracking System.
Addressing the function, DSCC Mayor Sayeed Khokon said the system has been launched to detect duty dodgers. ‘I’ll get tough as much as I can to keep the city livable,’ he warned.
The Mayor, however, assured that the DSCC will do everything for the welfare of the cleaning staff. ‘We don’t want to punish them, but reward everybody for their better performances,’ he said.
Sources at the DSCC said around 5,216 cleaning employees have been working under the city corporation. Every staff will be given Grameen mobile phone SIM in phases to bring them under the tracking system.
