Gazipur: Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will visit Bangladesh Ansar and VDP Academy at Shafipur in Gazipur on Thursday to attend the 36^th National Rally of the Bangladesh Ansar and VDP.

The prime minister was expected to arrive at the Bangladesh Ansar and VDP Academy at about 9:30am.

Sheikh Hasina will observe the parade and receive salute and attend other programmes at the academy.

Security was tightened up in the academy area ahead of the PM’s visit.

The Ansar force has a total of 18,000 Battalion Ansar, three lakhs of combined Ansar, and 59lakh VDP members. Among the 3lakh combined Ansar members, 45,000 have been appointed by government while the others work as security force members.

More than 600 Ansar-VDP members will participate in the parade this year. Moreover, around 2,500 Ansar-VDP members will join the darbar and other programmes of the day.
