16,207 posts of primary headteachers vacant
Dhaka: A total of 16,207 posts of headteachers are vacant in government primary schools across the country, Primary and Mass Education Minister Mostafizur Rahman told Parliament on Thursday.
Responding to a question from Jatiya Party lawmaker AKM Maidul Islam (Kurigram 3 constituency), the minister said the number of vacant posts in the old government primary schools is 7,952, while it is 8,255 in the newly nationalised (primary) schools.
Mostafizur said, ‘The issue of sending information of vacant posts in the specific graph of the Public Service Commission to appoint headteachrs is under process,’ he said.
