Munshiganj: A Communist Party of Bangladesh (CPB) leader was shot to death by miscreants at Kakalodi of Sirajdikhan upazila on Monday evening.

The deceased is Shahjahan Bachchu, 55, former general secretary of district CPB and owner of Bishakha Publication.

Additional Police Superintendent (Sirajdikhan circle) Asaduzzaman said four miscreants on two motorcycles opened fire on Bachchu just before the iftar, killing him on the spot.

The body was sent to Munshiganj General Hospital for autopsy, he said.
