Panchagarh: A schoolgirl has allegedly been raped by her boyfriend in Tulshi Shah Mazar area of Sadar upazila.

Officer-in-charge of Sadar Police Station Ranju Ahmed said the victim, a Class-VIII student, had an affair with Anarul Islam, 28, son of Habibur Rahman of Amarkhana village in the upazila.

On Monday night, Anarul along with his accomplice Shafiqul Islam took the girl to Tulshi Shah Mazar area along the Karotoa River promising to marry her.

However, the youth raped her there and went away telling the girl that he would come back along with new clothes and money for the marriage. But he did not return.

Locals found the girl on Tuesday morning and reached her to her family at Dolopara village in the upazila.

Victim’s brother filed a case with Sadar Police Station on Wednesday in this regard.
