Drug peddler snatched from police custody, 2 cops hurt
Natore: A drug peddler was snatched from police custody by his cohorts at Jalanda village in Boraigram upazila on Saturday.
Officer-in-charge of Boraigram Police Station Dilip Kumar Das said as part of the anti-drug drive police arrested Zahidul Islam Zahid, an accused in a drug case, from Jalanda village at noon, reports the UNB.
After Zahid’s arrest, some of his associates attacked policemen and snatched him from their custody, leaving two assistant sub inspectors- Shiblu and Motiur-injured.
On information, police rushed to the spot and rescued the injured policemen. They arrested 12 people in this connection.
