Uneasy calm everywhere, bemoans Fakhrul
Dhaka: BNP secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir on Thursday alleged that an ‘uneasy calm’ has been prevailing in the country due to ‘persistent repressive acts’.
‘We get shocked and disappointed whenever we see newspapers as incidents of repression on our children, our mothers and brothers going on unabated,’ he said, reports the UNB.
Speaking at a programme of children, the BNP leader further said, ‘An uneasy situation has been prevailing all around. War, conflict, killing and unfair acts are there everywhere across the globe, including Bangladesh.’
Zia Shishiu Academy arranged the programme at the Institution of Diploma Engineers, Bangladesh.
Fakhrul said sometimes he sees darkness all around as the light has disappeared. ‘I think our children are moving ahead to bring back the light in society.’
He hoped that the children will build themselves as worthy citizens of the country to turn it into a developed and prosperous one.
‘We all know our freedom fighters liberated the country sacrificing their blood. You’ll have to prepare yourselves to properly build the country and make it livable,’ the BNP leader told the children.
‘I would like to tell the children don’t stop flying as you have the wings. You’ll surely reach the desired destination someday,’ he added.
