Do your job to ensure fair polls, Home Minister to DCs
Dhaka: Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal on Thursday said he has instructed all the deputy commissioners (DCs) to work responsibly to make sure the next national election is held fairly.
Talking to reporters after the fifth session of the Deputy Commissioners’ Conference in the city, he also urged them to coordinate with law enforcement agencies so that people can cast their votes freely, reports the UNB.
After the schedule for the parliamentary elections is announced, the minister said, the law enforcers will be ready to beef up security across the country to prevent any possible unrest.
He said adequate manpower and logistic support have been provided to the law enforcers and more will be given, if necessary.
The DCs were also urged to work with their respective local administrations and law enforcement agencies to ensure security at the district level.
