‘Drug trader’ killed in city ‘gunfight’
Dhaka: A suspected drug trader was killed in a reported gunfight with members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) in Bochila area of the capital early Monday.
The deceased was identified as Rajon, 25, reports the UNB.
Tipped off that a gang of drug traders gathered there, a team of RAB conducted a drive in the area under Muhammadpur thana, RAB sources said.
Sensing presence of the elite force, the gang members opened fire on them, forcing them to fire back, triggering the gunfight which left Rajon dead on the spot.
The team also recovered arms, bullets and huge hemp from the spot.
Beside, two RAB members were injured in the incident.
