Wishing anonymity, an OC told UNB that they have been asked to bring the situation under control by convincing the students about sufferings people going through because of their frequent road blockades.
‘We’ve been given directives to exercise restrain while the students on the streets,’ the OC added.
He said they have also been directed to remain alert about their personal security during the patrol, and not to move to any area in empty vehicles.

On Sunday, Diya Khanam Mim and Abdul Karim Rajib, students of the college section of Shaheed Ramiz Uddin School and College, were killed as a ‘Jabal-e-Noor Paribahan’ bus ploughed through some students in front of Kurmitola General Hospital on Airport Road, triggering the widespread protest that caused immense public sufferings.
