Road safety movement: 29 sued for instigating students
Dhaka: Police filed a case with Ramna police station accusing 29 social media users and online news portals on charge of instigating students during the ongoing street protest demanding 9-points demands, including road safety.
Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) of the cybercrime unit under Dhaka Metropolitan Police, Yeasin Meah filed the case with the police station under Section 57 of the Information and Communication Technology Act on August 2, said Deputy Commissioner (Media) of the DMP Masudur Rahman, reports the UNB.
According to the First Information Report (FIR) of the case, the plaintiff alleged that provocative posts, writings and videos were uploaded through social media, including Facebook, Twitter, YouTube and online news portals and blogs, aiming to deteriorating the law and order.
