Munshiganj: A madrasa teacher was killed in an attack allegedly by his cousin over a trifling matter at Azimpur in Sadar upazila on Tuesday.

The deceased was identified as Awlad Hossain, 55, a teacher of Churain Anowarul Ulum Rahmania Madrasa, reports the UNB.

Zillur Rahman, officer-in-charge of Hatimara Police Station, said Awlad had an altercation with his cousin Taijul over borrowed money worth Tk 80,000 in the night.

At one stage, Taijul hit Awlad with a hammer, leaving him dead on the spot.

On information, police recovered the body and sent it to Munshiganj General Hospital morgue for an autopsy.
