14-party not in favour of ‘meaningless’ dialogue: Nasim
Dhaka: Awami League-led ruling 14-party alliance is not in favour of any ‘meaningless’ dialogue, Health Minister Mohammad Nasim said on Saturday.
Emerging from an alliance meeting, Nasim said, ‘14-party alliance does not support any meaningless dialogue. Dialogue means a conspiracy to delay elections. Dialogue means ploy to create a situation where an unconstitutional government can be formed. 14-party is not in favour of it, it’s not ready for any compromise.’
The meeting was held at AL President Sheikh Hasina’s Dhanmondi office in the city
He further said the alliance will guard against conspiracy of forming unconstitutional government until the Election Commission (EC) announces the schedule for upcoming general election.
‘Whenever the election comes, a familiar evil group become active, they bring into fore some unconstitutional and undesirable questions. Election is the right of people and participating in the polls also right of a political party. If they take preparation for the polls, we will welcome them’, said Nasim.
‘Currently, national election is held under the elected government in the whole world. There is no scope of making any exception in the country’, he added.
Jatiya Party secretary general Sheikh Shahidul Islam, general secretary of the Bangladesher Samyabadi Dal, Dilip Barua, GeneralSecretaryof Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal,Shirin Akhtar, general secretary of rebel faction of Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal, Nazmul Haque, AL organising secretaries Ahmed Hossain and Khalid Mahmud were present in the meeting among others.
