Dhaka: Health and Family Welfare Minister Mohammad Nasim on Thursday said all hospitals of the country would be brought under digital technology with modern equipment.

The minister said while replying to a question of treasury bench member Safura Begum in parliament.

Terming introduction of telemedicine as one of the grand successes of the present government, Nasim said at present there is one telemedicine centre at Management Information System (MIS) of Health Directorate and 28 centres are at different hospitals.

In future, 15 more telemedicine centres will be set up in the second phase, Nasim said.

The telemedicine provides free of cost healthcare services to the rural people, the minister said.

Besides, medical colleges in the country have already been equipped with updated machineries, he added.
