BNP doubtful about Khaleda Zia’s proper treatment by medical board
Dhaka: BNP on Sunday expressed doubt over the proper treatment of its chairperson Khaleda Zia by the medical board formed with ‘pro-ruling party doctors’.
‘We’r unhappy with the medical board. We don’t think our leader (Khaleda) would get proper treatment by the pro-ruling party doctors. We can’t trust it,’ said BNP standing committee member Khandaker Mosharraf Hossain.
Speaking at a press conference at BNP’s Nayapaltan central office, he further said, ‘We still demand the formation of a new medical board, including our leader’s personal physicians, to ensure her proper treatment as she’s very sick.’
Referring to their party delegation’s meeting with the Home Minister on September 9, the BNP leader said Asaduzzaman Khan had promised to keep Khaleda’s personal physicians in the medical board. ‘We’ve got frustrated when the medical board was formed with only government physicians.’
