20-party leaders to hold emergency meeting this evening
Dhaka: Top leaders of the BNP-led 20-party alliance are going to hold an emergency meeting this (Thursday) evening to discuss various issues, including formation of the national unity and their next course of action.
The meeting is scheduled to begin at 7pm at BNP chairperson’s Gulshan office, said Khaleda Zia’s press wing member Sayrul Kabir Khan.
A BNP standing committee member, wishing anonymity, said they will discuss some ‘important’ issues at the meeting and take the opinions of the alliance leaders.
He said issues relating to the national unity, future action programmes, the next general election and possible verdict in August-21 grenade attack case, will come up for discussions at the meeting.
The BNP leader said the party is going to announce some action programmes from their planned rally at Suhrawardy Udyan on Saturday. ‘We’ll discuss our possible action programmes, and seek cooperation from the alliance partners in making those a success through their active participation.’
