‘20-party leaders work out movement strategy’
Dhaka: Top leaders of the BNP-led 20-party alliance at an emergency meeting on Thursday discussed various issues, including formation of the national unity, and worked out strategy of their next course of action.
The nearly two-and-a-half-hour meeting that began around 7:20pm was held at the BNP chairperson’s Gulshan office.
An alliance leader, wishing anonymity, said they discussed some ‘important’ issues and worked out the strategy of a fresh movement to be launched very soon to realise their various demands, including holding the next polls under a non-party administration.
He said issues relating to the national unity, future action programmes, the next general election and possible verdict in the August-21 grenade attack case came up for discussion at the meeting.
The last meeting of the alliance was held on September 9 where the 20-party leaders extended their support to forging a national unity with other political parties.
