Savar: Police arrested five activists of Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal (JCD) on sabotage charges from Sharifbagh area in Dhamrai upazila town on Saturday.

The arrestees are Khakan Mia and Jahir Uddin of Kalampur Charpara village, Siddique Hossain of Vatkora village, Shakib Hossain and Najir Dewan of the municipality, reports the UNB.

Acting on a tip-off, a team of police conducted a drive in the area and arrested them while they were taking preparation to bring out a procession demanding release of BNP Chairperson Khelada Zia from jail, said Dipak Chandra Saha, officer-in-charge of Dhamrai Police Station.

They were arrested on charges of creating sabotage activities in the area, said the OC.
