Gazipur: A student of a Polytechnique institute was stabbed to death by unidentified miscreants in Harbaid area under Pubail thana of city early Saturday.

The deceased was identified as Imtiaz Uddin Ifte, son of late Shamsuddin, a resident of the area, reports the UNB.

Didar Alam, sub-inspector of Pubail Police Station, said Imtiaz was sleeping in a room of their under-construction building to guard construction materials at night.

Later, his mother found his stabbed body in the morning.

Hearing her screams, neighbours rushed in and informed police.

On information, police recovered the body.

The motive behind murder could not be known yet, said the SI.
