Sramik League leader stabbed dead in Gazipur

Gazipur: A local leader of Sramik League was stabbed to death allegedly by his rivals at Karaitala in the municipality area on Thursday.
The deceased was identified as Faruk Hossain, organizing secretary of Sreepur municipality unit Sramik League, reports the UNB.
Quoting family members, police said a group of youngmen including Sumon, Babul intercepted Faruk while he was going to his workplace around 9 am and took him to Karail where they stabbed him indiscriminately around 10 am in front of other people, leaving him injured.
They also severed the two hands of Faruk.
Later, he was taken to Shreepur upazila Health Complex where doctors declared him dead.
Jabedul Islam, officer-in-charge of Sreepur Police Station, said the motive behind the murder could not known yet.
Police are trying to nab the culprits, said OC.
