Man killed by BSF at Kushtia border

Kushtia: A Bangladeshi was allegedly shot to death and another injured by members of Indian Border Security Force (BSF) in Mohommadpur Dangerpara area of Daulatpur upazila in Kushtia on Monday night.
An UNB report says the deceased is Mamun, a resident of Dangerpara village of the upazila and a cattle trader.
Witnesses said the BSF members from Sarkarpara camp in Murshidabad, India opened fire at a group of cattle traders numbering around 5 while the latter were entering India through the border at about 8:30am.
Mamun’s family memers claimed that Mamun died on the spot during the firing and Alim received bullet injuries when he tried to bring back the body of Mamun.
BGB battalion 47 commanding officer Lieutenant Colonel Azad said they had heard that the body of the deceased remained in the Indian territory, while the injured cattle trader named Alim went missing after the incident.
BGB had already sent a letter to BSF protesting the incident.
