Indian Khasias kill Bangladeshi youth along Sylhet border

Sylhet: A Bangladeshi young man was shot to death by members of Indian Khasia community along the border in Companiganj upazila early Monday.
The deceased was identified as Saddam Hossain, 25, son of late Makhtasir Miah of Kolabari village in the upazila, reports the UNB.
Quoting locals, officer-in-charge of Companiganj Police Station Tajul Islam said Saddam crossed the border while collecting firewood in the early hours when Khasia community members fired gunshots at him, killing him on the spot.
Police recovered the body from the border area around 7am, he said, adding that the body was sent to MAG Osmani Medical College Hospital for autopsy.
