Panchagarh: A five-year-old girl was sexually harassed at Prodhanpara in Sadar upazila on Monday night.

Quoting the locals, police said victim’s neighbour Jony Islam, 22, picked her up from near her house and took her to a nearby bamboo garden and tried to violate her.

Jony fled the scene when the victim screamed, reports the UNB.

Traumatised, the little girl returned home and informed her parents about the incident. She was admitted to Sadar Hospital.

Officer-in-charge of Panchagarh Police Station Abu Akkas Ahme said victim’s father was preparing to file a case in this connection.
