Dhaka: The government has imposed a restriction on any kind of indoor and outdoor celebrations of the 31st night on the eve of New Year 2019 due to the general election.

‘No one will be allowed to use any public place, open space or rooftop for the New Year celebration on the 31st night due to national election,’ said Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal, reports the UNB.

The decision was taken at a meeting at the Home Ministry with Home Minister in the chair on Sunday.

Briefing reporter after the meeting, the Home Minister said people also will not be allowed to hold parties like DJ ones and set off fireworks on the 31st night for security concerns.
