EC asks home ministry to withdraw KMP commissioner

Dhaka: The Election Commission has decided to withdraw Khulna Metropolitan Police (KMP) Commissioner Md Humayun Kabir ahead of the general election slated for December 30.

The EC on Friday sent a letter to the Home Ministry in this regard, EC joint secretary Farhad Ahammad Khan confirmed UNB.

Earlier on November 28, the Commission removed Narayanganj Superintendent of Police Anisur Rahman after BNP placed demand for his transfer.

Later, the Home Ministry made Deputy Commissioner of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Harun-Ur-Rashid as Narayanganj SP after getting EC’s clearance.
