Miscreants set fire to two buses in Syedpur of Burichong upazila early Sunday, hours before the start of the BNP-led 20-Party Alliance’s 72-hour countrywide hartal.

Police said a group of miscreants torched two Chittagong-bound buses on the Dhaka-Chittagong Highway in the area early in the morning.

They also blasted a crude bomb to create panic among the passengers.

A fire fighting unit rushed to the spot and doused the flame.

No casualy was reported.
