Narsingdi: Bikalpa Dhara Joint Secretary General Mahi B Chowdhury’s ancestral house in Sreenagar upazila came under attack on Wednesday night.

Mahi’s personal assistant Abdullah Al Mamun said, the gun attack took place around 8:45pm while four to five rounds bullets were opened that left a window smashed, reports the UNB.

Mahi B Chowdhury and his family members were not home during the attack, he added. 

Yunus Ali, officer-in-charge of Shreenagar Police Station said police recovered a bullet shell from the spot. ‘Police are investigating the firing.’

The criminals attacked the house from behind and soon fled, the OC added.

Mahi B Chowdhury, son of Bikalpadhara President Prof AQM Badruddoza Chowdhury, is supposed to contest in the impending national election for Narsingdi-1 constituency as his party allied with ruling Awami League.
