Dr Kamal to cast ballot at Viqarunnisa centre
Dhaka: Jatiya Oikyafront chief Dr Kamal Hossain will cast his vote at Viqarunnisa Noon School and College polling station in the city on Sunday morning.
At a press conference at Dhaka Reporters’ Unity (DRU), he said he will cast his ballot by 8:00am to 9:00am at the centre near his house, reports the UNB.
‘Exercising franchise is my right. It’s not a matter of confusion. I’ll surely go to the polling station nearby my house (Viqarunnisa) on foot by 8:00am to 9:00am to enjoy my right,’ Dr Kamal said.
He said those who’re indulging in misdeeds instead of performing their duties properly and attacking people are defying the Constitution, ‘It’s a matter of shame that such things are happening even after 47 years of Independence. ‘I hope, I won’t witness such incidents in the future.’
Asked whether he is concerned over his personal security, Dr Kamal said, ‘I never sought security from police in my whole life...the way various incidents are happening now across the country, it’s natural to be worried about. But I never got scared in the past, and won’t be in the future either.’
Voting of the 11th national election will begin across the country at 8am on Sunday, and continue without any break till 4:00pm.
