Injured in polls violence, AL man dies in Rajshahi

Rajshahi: A local Awami League leader, who sustained injuries during a clash between Awami League and BNP activists in Godagari upazila on Sunday, died at Rajshahi Medical College Hospital early Monday.
The deceased was identified as Ismail Hossain, 50, son of Azhar Ali and a resident of Dhomorpur Kajihata area in Deopara union of the upazila and was convener of 3 no ward Awami League election committee, reports the UNB.
AbdurRazzak, officer-in-charge of Godagari Model Police Station, said that Ismail sustained injuries during a clash between AL-BNP men at Lalpur-Dhomorpur School and College polling centre around 12 pm.
Later, he was admitted to ICU of Rajshahi Medical College and Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries in the early morning.
Earlier, two local Awami League leaders were killed in election violence in Tanore and Mohonpur upazilas on Sunday.
